Colorful flowers and birds are two of Sōshichi’s favorite subjects for art. They were included in more than twenty of his paintings. Twenty-two examples are shown here. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Sōshichi drew his subjects in only a semi-realistic way and typically placed them in front of a colorful but abstract background.
